Our Story
Hello, I’m Andy Hoyland. For over a decade, our passionate, experienced educators have been unlocking students’ true potential in GCSE subjects. We’re dedicated to igniting a love for learning while providing expert guidance in Geography, Maths, English and most other GCSE subjects. Our mission goes beyond academics – we’re committed to supporting students’ mental health and filling crucial gaps in traditional education. Meet The Founder – Andy Hoyland
Hi, I’m Andy, founder of Level Up Online Tutoring. I built our community as a space where parents and teens can come together for support, motivation, and real strategies to succeed during some of the most challenging years of life — the teenage years!
School didn’t come naturally to me.
I wasn’t academic, and I had to work extra hard to get to where I am today. Just as I was trying to handle the pressure of exams and growing up, my mum was sadly diagnosed with cancer, and my parents split up soon after. It made navigating Year 10 and 11 feel almost impossible.
I left school with average grades and limited options, but I know I’m not alone — thousands of teens across the country are battling personal challenges while trying to stay afloat academically.
After pushing through A-levels, I started university, but my mum passed away when I was just 20. I barely scraped through with a 2:2 from a not-so-great university. But that’s when everything started to change…
I began working in a local school, discovered my passion for teaching, and eventually earned a place on a teacher training course — even though the interviewer told me they usually only accept “smarter people”! I went on to graduate top of the class with a First.
Since then, I’ve taught for over 12 years, run trips abroad, and consistently helped my students smash their GCSEs — and now I’m running Level Up Online Tutoring, where we combine academic support with mental-health strategies to help teens truly realise their potential.

Absolutely! We offer flexible scheduling options to fit tutoring sessions around your child’s school timetable and extracurricular commitments. Sessions are also recorded so if your child misses the live session they can simply catch-up in their own time!
Q: What technology is required to participate in online tutoring sessions?
Students will need a computer, phone or tablet with internet access and a note-pad and pen to make maximum progress!
Q: What if my child doesn't find the session helpful?

Q; How do I know if Level-Up Online Tutoring is right for my child?
Level-Up Online Tutoring is a monthly subscription and is ridiculously good value for money – if you are not happy with the service you can simply ‘leave the group’ and no further payments will be made!

Our services cater mainly to GCSE-aged students but there are often live webinars which are suited to younger years if your child is looking to get ahead or find out more about the GCSE process!
